Indian-Origin Shailesh Jejurikar Appointed P&G Board Chairman

Shailesh Jejurikar, already President and CEO of Procter & Gamble, will assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective August 1, 2026. He succeeds Jon Moeller, who is retiring after 38 years.

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced the appointment of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Shailesh Jejurikar, as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The transition is set to be effective on August 1, 2026, with Jejurikar retaining his current leadership roles.

Jejurikar, who was born in Mumbai, India, will take over from Jon Moeller, who is retiring from the Board on July 31 and from the company on August 14. Moeller has served P&G for 38 years in various key positions, including Executive Chairman, CEO, COO, and CFO.

A Distinguished Career at P&G

Shailesh Jejurikar's tenure with the global consumer goods giant spans more than 37 years. He joined P&G on July 1, 1989, shortly after completing his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, and holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Mumbai University.

Throughout his extensive career, Jejurikar has held significant leadership roles across multiple product categories, business sectors, and international markets. His experience includes working in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa, where he was instrumental in developing P&G's Fabric Care and Home Care businesses.

He has also been a crucial figure in shaping the company's strategic direction and operational efficiency across its supply chain, information technology, and global business services divisions.

Leadership Transition and Future Vision

Jejurikar assumed the role of P&G's President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2026. Prior to this, he served as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company’s Enterprise Markets, which encompass Latin America, India, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe.

In his COO capacity, he also led several critical functions, including Information Technology, Global Business Services, Sales, Market Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and New Business development. As Chairman and CEO, Jejurikar now leads one of the world's largest consumer goods companies, reaching approximately five billion people in over 180 countries annually.

In a statement, Jejurikar expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Jon Moeller, acknowledging his tireless leadership and strategic vision that have been fundamental in shaping the modern P&G. Jejurikar highlighted Moeller's unwavering courage and profound dedication to the institution and its employees.
