At the closing bell, the Sensex registered a gain of 13.84 points, or 0.02%, settling at 74,360.01. Notably, the index surged an impressive 552.71 points from its day's low of 73,807.30. Similarly, the Nifty climbed 10.95 points, or 0.05%, to conclude the session at 23,416.55.

Several major stocks contributed substantially to the Sensex's upward movement, including ICICI Bank, Titan Company, Eternal, State Bank of India (SBI), and ITC.

Top Performers & Laggards

Among the 30 Sensex constituents, Titan Company emerged as the top gainer, advancing 4% to reach Rs 4250.10. Eternal followed with a strong 2.99% jump. Other notable gainers included:

  • State Bank of India (SBI): Up 0.93%

Sectoral indices also reflected the day's positive sentiment. The BSE Consumer Durables Index saw a robust advance of 1.94%, closing at 58,389.68. The BSE Oil & Gas index also recorded gains, rising 0.57% to settle at 26,671.28.
