India Fuel Prices Today: LPG, CNG, PNG Rates Stable June 26; Commercial Rules Eased

· · 2 min read

Domestic LPG, CNG, and PNG prices largely remain stable across India on June 26, 2026. The government has also eased restrictions on commercial LPG supply, restoring pre-war levels and offering relief to businesses.

Fuel prices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) across India show broad stability on June 26, 2026. While domestic LPG cylinder rates have held steady since an increase on June 7, commercial LPG supplies have seen significant policy changes, providing respite to industrial consumers.

Domestic and Commercial Fuel Updates

Domestic LPG cylinder prices, which are a primary cooking fuel for many Indian households, have not changed since a ₹29 hike implemented on June 7. Similarly, commercial LPG cylinder prices have maintained their rates since June 1. CNG and PNG, increasingly popular alternatives, also saw their last price adjustments in May this year.

In a crucial development for businesses, the government recently lifted all sectoral restrictions on non-domestic LPG supply, reinstating pre-war supply levels. This move follows the US waiving sanctions on Iranian petroleum for 60 days, impacting global crude oil markets. Currently, Brent crude is trading around $74 per barrel, and US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude is approximately $70.75 per barrel, reflecting a slight downturn.

Impact of Global Supply and Local Policy

The partial resumption of oil cargo movement through the Strait of Hormuz has direct implications for India, which sources about 40% of its crude oil and 90% of its LPG imports from West Asian nations like Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Due to ongoing global energy supply challenges, the government has adjusted the number of subsidised cylinders available under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) from nine to four. This scheme provides free gas connections to millions of women in rural India.
