Animall, an innovative agritech startup, is revolutionizing India's traditional dairy cattle market by bringing it online. Co-founded by IIT Delhi graduates Neetu Yadav and Kirti Jangra, the platform provides a digital marketplace for dairy farmers, now valued at approximately ₹565 crore.
The inspiration for Animall struck in 2019 when Yadav and Jangra, both Civil Engineering alumni, observed that while most commerce had shifted online, cattle trading in India remained largely dependent on physical livestock markets and intermediaries. Their vision was to establish a reliable digital space where farmers could efficiently buy and sell cows and buffaloes, enhancing transparency and fair pricing.
From Corporate Careers to Agritech Innovation
After completing their degrees at IIT Delhi in 2016, both founders initially pursued careers in the corporate sector. Neetu Yadav gained experience as a technology analyst at Citi before moving into product management. Kirti Jangra also built a background in the corporate world. However, driven by a shared passion to address the challenges faced by millions of Indian dairy farmers, the duo eventually left their corporate roles to dedicate themselves to Animall.
Expanding Beyond Trading
Animall began its journey from a modest rented office in Bengaluru and has since grown into a comprehensive livestock ecosystem. Beyond facilitating cattle transactions, the platform has diversified its offerings to include essential services such as animal healthcare, artificial insemination, and other dairy-related solutions. These expansions aim to boost farmer productivity and ensure they receive optimal prices for their livestock.
The startup's success has attracted significant investment from prominent venture capital firms, including Beenext, Sequoia Capital India, and Nexus Venture Partners. Animall's trajectory underscores the potential of technology to tackle long-standing issues within India's rural economy, connecting buyers and sellers in a fragmented market and fostering greater efficiency and trust.
