IIIT-Bangalore Class of 2026 Secures ₹1.5 Cr Top Package, Two ₹1.3 Cr Offers

IIIT-Bangalore's Class of 2026 celebrated a stellar placement season, with one Integrated M.Tech. student securing an annual package of ₹1.5 crore. Two additional students received offers of ₹1.3 crore each, highlighting strong recruitment at the institute.

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-Bangalore) has announced impressive placement figures for its Class of 2026, with a top annual package reaching ₹1.5 crore. An Integrated M.Tech. student secured this highest offer, marking a significant achievement for the graduating batch.

Record-Breaking Offers and Widespread Success

Beyond the top offer, two other students from the Class of 2026 received annual packages of ₹1.3 crore each. The institute reported widespread success, with more than 22 graduates securing offers exceeding ₹60 lakh. Additionally, 27 students landed packages ranging between ₹40 lakh and ₹60 lakh, and over 110 students achieved annual salaries above ₹20 lakh.

26th Annual Convocation Highlights

These placement figures were unveiled during IIIT-Bangalore's 26th annual convocation, where 316 students received their degrees. The graduating class comprised 95 Integrated M.Tech. students, 175 M.Tech. students, 32 M.S. by Research graduates, and 14 PhD scholars.

Dr. Debabrata Das, Director of IIIT-Bangalore, addressed the graduates, emphasizing their excellence across academics, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He encouraged them to remain curious, embrace lifelong learning, and leverage technology responsibly to make a positive societal impact, aligning with the convocation's theme, 'Wings of Excellence'.

Key Milestones and Recognitions

  • 100th PhD Scholar: Dr. Vikas, a neurosurgeon from NIMHANS, became the institute's 100th PhD scholar, completing his doctoral research in Computer Science and Engineering.
  • 5,000 Alumni Mark: IIIT-Bangalore officially crossed the 5,000-alumni mark.

Several students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance:

  • Singuru Manognya received the Institute Gold Medal for M.Tech.
  • Subhajeet Lahiri was awarded the Institute Gold Medal for Integrated M.Tech.
  • Siddharth Kothari was named the best outgoing male student.
  • Yukta Arvind Rajapur was recognized as the best outgoing female student.

Institute's Broader Impact

The convocation also highlighted IIIT-Bangalore's growing influence through its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiatives, which are now being adopted in over 40 countries. Furthermore, the institute's developed Tele-MANAS national tele-mental health platform has successfully handled more than 40 lakh calls, showcasing its commitment to public service and technological innovation.
