Food safety inspections by Hyderabad's H-FAST revealed widespread pest infestation and unhygienic conditions at several units producing sweets, cakes, and cookies. Authorities have initiated action against establishments violating food safety standards to safeguard public health.

Hyderabad food safety officials have initiated strict action against several food manufacturing units across the city after uncovering widespread pest infestations and unsanitary conditions during recent inspections. The Hyderabad Food Safety Task Force (H-FAST), in collaboration with Food Safety Officer (FSO) Dyvanidhi, conducted a series of checks at facilities producing sweets, cakes, cookies, and Osmania biscuits.

Uncovering Key Violations

The inspections, part of an ongoing enforcement drive by the Food Safety Department, brought to light numerous violations of food safety norms. Officials reported finding significant pest infestations, unhygienic production environments, and other sanitation lapses at multiple establishments. These conditions pose a direct threat to public health, underscoring the critical need for stringent adherence to hygiene regulations.

Safeguarding Public Health

Authorities emphasized that the enforcement drive is a concerted effort to ensure that all food products available to consumers are manufactured, handled, and stored under the strictest hygienic conditions. The department reiterated its commitment to taking decisive action against any food business operators found flouting prescribed norms, with measures already underway against the violating units.

Regular inspections will continue across Hyderabad as part of the Food Safety Department's broader initiative to improve compliance within the food industry and curb unsafe manufacturing practices, thereby ensuring consumer safety and trust.
