'Hanuman Ansh' Box Office Miracle: From ₹10 Lakh Day 1 to ₹54 Crore Gross

· · 2 min read

The devotional drama 'Hanuman Ansh' became an unexpected box office hit in 2026, soaring from modest initial collections to over ₹54 crore gross in India. Its fourth week saw an extraordinary surge, surpassing its first three weeks' total in a single day.

The Hindi-language devotional drama Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of the most surprising box office success stories of 2026. After a slow start, the film has defied all expectations, achieving a remarkable turnaround to cross the ₹54 crore mark in India's gross collections, according to box office tracker Sacnilk.

An Unlikely Ascent

Released on August 7, 2026, Hanuman Ansh initially struggled to find an audience. Its first three weeks saw cumulative net collections of only around ₹11.90 crore, with daily earnings often hovering around ₹1-2 crore. Trade analysts had largely written off the film, which began its theatrical run with a mere ₹10 lakh on its opening day.

Fourth Week Phenomenon

The true miracle began in its fourth week. The film's collections steadily climbed, transforming from a non-starter into a box office sensation. A significant highlight occurred on its fourth Sunday (Day 24), when Hanuman Ansh collected an astounding ₹12.75 crore net across 5,363 screens. This single-day haul alone surpassed the film's entire net collection from its first three weeks combined, a growth pattern Sacnilk described as extraordinary.

Over its fourth weekend, the film amassed an estimated ₹28.25 crore net, pushing its 24-day total to approximately ₹40 crore. By Day 26, the film's running totals reached ₹46.11 crore net and ₹54.39 crore gross in India, showcasing an unprecedented late-stage surge.

Outpacing Big Budgets

The sustained success of Hanuman Ansh also positioned it against major releases. On a comparative day, the devotional drama comfortably outpaced the high-profile film Toxic. Sacnilk data indicated that Hanuman Ansh earned ₹5.50 crore net in Hindi with 22.37 percent occupancy on its Day 25, while Toxic managed ₹4.60 crore on its Day 6. This momentum is further evident in ticket sales, with Hanuman Ansh selling over 1.25 million tickets on BookMyShow.
