Gorakhpur Student Scores 605 in NEET UG 2026 Amidst Marriage, Fatherhood

· · 2 min read

Gorakhpur's Vishal Tiwari, 23, achieved 605 marks in NEET UG 2026 after a four-year effort. He navigated marriage, became a father, and taught tuition classes to support his family while preparing for the demanding medical entrance exam.

Vishal Tiwari, a 23-year-old from Gorakhpur, has successfully cleared the highly competitive NEET UG 2026 examination, securing an impressive 605 marks. His achievement is particularly notable as he balanced significant family responsibilities, including early marriage and fatherhood, alongside rigorous academic preparation.

A Four-Year Journey of Dedication

Tiwari's path to success was a four-year endeavor marked by perseverance. He completed his Class 12 with Biology in 2022 from Saraswati Vidya Mandir. Initially, financial constraints meant he prepared for the medical entrance exam through self-study. After two unsuccessful attempts, his parents, Santosh and Radhika Tiwari, secured loans to enroll him in a coaching institute, providing him with structured guidance for his subsequent tries.

Balancing Family and Academics

Unlike many aspirants, Vishal's preparation unfolded amidst a rapidly evolving personal life. He married Kalpana Pandey of Siddharthnagar district shortly after finishing school at 19. Two years later, at 21, he became a father to his son, Virat. These added responsibilities did not deter his resolve. Vishal credits his wife's unwavering support, stating she handled household duties and childcare, allowing him to focus on his studies.

Tuition and Late-Night Study Sessions

To contribute to his family's finances, Vishal took on home tuition classes. His daily routine was demanding: attending coaching in the mornings, conducting tuition sessions in the evenings, and then heading to a library where he studied diligently until around 11 PM every night. The income from these classes helped cover essential household expenses, easing some of the financial burden on his family while he pursued his dream.

Parental Sacrifices and Future Aspirations

Vishal's father, an auto-rickshaw driver, made immense sacrifices, continuing to work tirelessly despite limited earnings to support his son's education. His parents' belief in education as a transformative force kept them from letting Vishal give up on his aspirations. Vishal, who initially harbored dreams of becoming an engineer but switched to Biology upon an uncle's encouragement, now aims to repay his parents' sacrifices. His immediate goal after becoming a doctor is to buy his father a car, a gesture of gratitude for a lifetime spent driving an auto for the family.
