Gift Nifty Shatters Records with $23.67 Billion Daily Turnover & $21.87 Billion Open Interest

Gift Nifty achieved a record single-day trading turnover of $23.67 billion on September 25, 2026, alongside an all-time high open interest of $21.87 billion. These milestones highlight significant growth for the NSE International Exchange.

GIFT Nifty, operated by the NSE International Exchange (NSEIX), has shattered previous records, reporting an all-time high single-day trading turnover of $23.67 billion on September 25, 2026. This significant milestone was accompanied by a new peak in open interest, which climbed to $21.87 billion across 471,287 contracts.

Record-Breaking Performance on NSEIX

The record turnover of $23.67 billion (approximately ₹2,26,987 crore) surpasses the previous high of $23.48 billion set on February 20, 2026. During the same trading session, GIFT Nifty also recorded an unprecedented single-day volume of 512,023 contracts, reflecting robust market activity.

Beyond daily turnover, the platform's open interest also reached a new high of $21.87 billion (approximately ₹2,09,679 crore). This figure exceeds the prior record of $21.56 billion established on June 25, 2026, indicating increasing investor confidence and participation.

Consistent Growth Since Full-Scale Operations

NSEIX highlighted that trading turnover has consistently grown since the full-scale operations of GIFT Nifty commenced on July 3, 2023. Since its inception, the platform has processed a cumulative trading volume exceeding 76.19 million contracts and a cumulative turnover of $3.52 trillion as of September 25, 2026.

The NSE International Exchange, an international exchange located at GIFT City, began operations on June 5, 2017. It is recognized and regulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). These latest achievements underscore GIFT Nifty's growing prominence as a global financial derivatives hub, with NSEIX extending gratitude to market participants for their continued support.
