The Mahindra Group has named Shveta Arya as its new Group Chief Strategy Officer, a pivotal role she will assume on September 15, 2026. The announcement was made by the conglomerate on August 9, 2026.
In her new capacity, Shveta Arya will be a member of the Group Executive Board and will report directly to Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD of the Mahindra Group. She will also hold a senior management position within Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
Leading Group Strategy and Growth
Arya's primary responsibility will be to spearhead the Group Strategy Office. Her mandate includes working across Mahindra's extensive portfolio of businesses to identify new growth opportunities, unlock value, and establish long-term strategic advantages for the company. This appointment underscores Mahindra's commitment to strategic expansion and innovation across its diverse sectors.

Extensive Background and Expertise
Shveta Arya joins the Mahindra Group with a distinguished career spanning more than 23 years. Her experience encompasses publicly listed multinational organizations and management consulting, with significant exposure to the automotive, travel, financial services, and telecom industries.
Prior to this role, Arya served as the Managing Director of Cummins India Limited, where she was instrumental in driving growth, ensuring customer success, nurturing talent, and fostering an inclusive and ethical work environment. Before her tenure at Cummins, she led Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions at Thomas Cook India and held various positions at Kearney and Infosys.
Academically, Arya holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) and a Bachelor’s in Engineering (BE) in Information Technology from Delhi University.
