Geopolitical Tensions Drive Up Oil Prices
Renewed hostilities between the US and Iran have significantly impacted global energy markets. Reports indicate a cycle of military exchanges, with Iran expanding attacks on Gulf states following US strikes. The US military confirmed that hostilities had resumed despite prior peace agreements and ongoing talks. Iranian media reported explosions near Qeshm and Sirik, marking the first strikes against Iran in nearly a month. The US cited these strikes as a response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
