Ajay Devgn's latest comedy, "Dhamaal 4," garnered ₹13.75 crore net domestically on its opening day. The film, also starring Riteish Deshmukh, achieved a 24.54% overall occupancy, with significant growth anticipated over the weekend.

The highly anticipated fourth installment of the Dhamaal film series, starring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Arshad Warsi, opened to a robust reception at the box office. On its first day, the comedy film, titled Dhamaal 4, secured a net domestic collection of ₹13.75 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Strong Opening Performance

The film's initial figures are encouraging, with India's gross collections reaching ₹16.50 crore and worldwide earnings totaling ₹21.50 crore on Day 1. The Friday shows reported an overall occupancy rate of 24.54%, peaking at 42% during night screenings. Key cities contributing significantly to this occupancy included Chennai (49.3%), Lucknow (34%), and Jaipur (31%).

Weekend Projections and Audience Reception

Industry analysts, including Bollywood Hungama, project a substantial increase in business over the upcoming weekend, with the film potentially eyeing the ₹50 crore mark for its three-day opening run. This positive outlook is bolstered by a resurgence in the popularity of comedy films, following recent successes like Bhooth Bangla and Welcome To The Jungle.

Fans have reportedly responded well to the film, with social media reviews hailing it as a "perfect family package," suggesting that the latest chapter successfully recaptures the essence of the original cult classic.

About the Film

Directed by Indra Kumar, Dhamaal 4 is a direct sequel to the previous films in the franchise: Dhamaal (2007), Double Dhamaal (2011), and Total Dhamaal (2019). The plot revolves around a group of money-hungry misfits who embark on a frantic race to discover a hidden treasure on a remote island, only to encounter a clumsy crew of modern pirates also seeking the same bounty.

In addition to Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Arshad Warsi, the ensemble cast features Jaaved Jaaferi, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Upendra Limaye, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Esha Gupta, and Vijay Patkar in pivotal roles.
