Authorities are urging the public to plan their travel well in advance and allocate extra time for journeys, as special traffic arrangements will be in place for the entire duration of the session. Prohibitory Orders Issued for Protests
In addition to the traffic restrictions, the Delhi Police has confirmed that no permission has been granted to the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) for a proposed march to Parliament on July 20, 2026. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which has replaced the erstwhile Section 144 of the CrPC, are actively enforced across the New Delhi District.
These orders strictly prohibit unauthorized public assemblies, including protest marches, processions, demonstrations, and gatherings of five or more persons, except at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar, and only with prior official permission.
