The Delhi government has launched the Lakshmi Yojana portal, allowing eligible women aged 21-60 to apply online for ₹2,500 in monthly financial assistance. The first installment is expected around Raksha Bandhan after document verification.

The Delhi government has officially opened its new Lakshmi Yojana portal, enabling eligible women in the capital to apply online for a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500. This initiative, a key welfare program, went live on August 1, 2026, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announcing that the scheme aims to provide direct financial support through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Officials anticipate that the initial installment of funds will be disbursed around the Raksha Bandhan festival, following a thorough verification process of all applications and submitted documents.

Delhi Lakshmi Yojana: Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, applicants must meet several conditions:

  • Age: Women must be between 21 and 60 years old.
  • Residency: Applicants must have been residents of Delhi for a minimum of 10 years.
  • Family Income: The annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
  • Family Limit: Only one woman per family is eligible to receive benefits.
  • Exclusions: Income tax payers are not eligible. Additionally, women with more than three children are excluded from the scheme.
  • Criminal Record: Neither the applicant nor her family should have any criminal record.

Required Documents for Application

Before beginning the online application process, prospective beneficiaries should prepare the following documents:

  • Aadhaar card
  • Proof of residence
  • Income certificate
  • Bank account details (for DBT)
  • Aadhaar-linked mobile number
  • Passport-size photograph

The government stresses the importance of ensuring all documents are current and accurate to prevent delays in the verification process.

How to Apply Online for Lakshmi Yojana

Eligible women can submit their applications through the official Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal. The steps are straightforward:

  1. Visit the official portal at dly.delhi.gov.in.
  2. Register using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and complete the initial eligibility verification.
  3. Fill in personal details, family information, and bank account particulars for Direct Benefit Transfer.
  4. Upload all prescribed documents. If applicable, submit a signed endorsement letter from an MP or MLA.
  5. Review the application thoroughly before final submission.
  6. Download the acknowledgement receipt. Applicants can track their application status on the portal using their registered mobile number.

Verification and Fund Disbursement

The Delhi government has stated that every application will undergo stringent document and eligibility verification. Once approved, beneficiaries will receive ₹2,500 each month directly into their registered bank accounts via the DBT system. The first payments are expected to be disbursed around Raksha Bandhan, subject to the completion of the verification process.
