Deepinder Goyal's 'Everything Is Solvable' Philosophy: Zomato Founder's Mindset

· · 2 min read

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal asserts that every problem is solvable with dedicated focus. This principle has guided his entrepreneurial journey, from building India's largest food delivery platform to exploring new ventures in health-tech and aviation.

Indian billionaire entrepreneur Deepinder Goyal, best known as the founder of Zomato, shared a foundational philosophy that has evidently driven his success:

“Everything is solvable. You have to put your mind to it.”
This powerful statement, first articulated during an interview in August 2017, underscores a relentless, solution-oriented approach crucial for navigating the complexities of the startup world.

The Solvable Mindset

Goyal's quote emerged when he was questioned about the seemingly insurmountable challenge of constant customer complaints regarding food quality at Zomato. Rather than viewing such issues as dead ends, he emphasized that a determined entrepreneur must combine creativity and persistence to break down problems and find actionable answers. This mindset prevents decision paralysis and fosters a culture of innovation, transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth.

Deepinder Goyal: An Entrepreneurial Journey

A graduate of IIT Delhi with an Integrated M.Tech in Mathematics and Computing (2005), Deepinder Goyal co-founded Zomato, which grew to become India's largest restaurant discovery and food delivery platform. As one of the most prominent figures in India's startup ecosystem, his net worth is estimated between $1.6 billion and $2.1 billion, primarily from his stake in Zomato.

Beyond Zomato: New Ventures

In February 2026, Goyal transitioned from his long-time role as Group CEO of Zomato’s parent company, Eternal Ltd, to become its Vice Chairman. This move allowed him to concentrate on high-risk, experimental technology startups outside the food ecosystem. His current focus areas include:

  • Temple: A health-tech venture dedicated to developing an advanced wearable device aimed at optimizing human performance.
  • LAT Aerospace: An ambitious project focused on creating pilot-free aviation networks for inter-city travel.

Goyal's continued pursuit of innovation in diverse sectors exemplifies his conviction that with sufficient focus and energy, every challenge can indeed be solved.
