The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has solidified plans for a significant hospitality development in Dwarka, signing an agreement with Juniper Hotels Ltd to construct a Grand Hyatt five-star hotel. This ambitious project, valued at ₹1,000 crore, is slated to be operational by 2030.
Boosting Dwarka's Economic Profile
The new Grand Hyatt hotel, located in Sector 23, Dwarka, is a strategic move by the DDA to enhance the sub-city's position as a major economic, commercial, and investment hub in the national capital. Officials anticipate the development will create approximately 800 direct employment opportunities.
Its location is particularly significant, offering views of the DDA Dwarka Golf Course and proximity to key infrastructure projects such as the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, the Dwarka Sports Complex, and a proposed diplomatic enclave. These strategic placements are expected to maximize the hotel's appeal to business travelers and international visitors.
A New Model for DDA Developments
This agreement marks a milestone for the DDA, representing the first formal execution of a project under its special licence-fee model. The Grand Hyatt hotel is one of four such projects auctioned by the authority in the past year. Juniper Hotels will develop the property on a licence-fee basis, projected to generate over ₹6,000 crore in revenue for the DDA over the proposed 55-year licence period.
Juniper Hotels, a strategic partnership between Saraf Hotels and Hyatt, currently manages seven hotels across India. The DDA expects this collaboration to provide long-term revenue streams while significantly upgrading Dwarka's premium hospitality infrastructure within its rapidly evolving urban ecosystem.

The project aligns with the DDA's broader efforts to accelerate investment and economic activity in Dwarka. It follows recent discussions chaired by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu with industry representatives, focusing on measures to strengthen Dwarka's development as a vital economic and commercial center.
