Cupid Ltd. CMD Halwasiya Increases Stake by 1.5 Million Shares

Aditya Kumar Halwasiya, Chairman and Managing Director of Cupid Ltd., acquired 1.5 million shares through an open market transaction. This latest purchase raises his personal stake to 33.80% and the promoter group's total holding to 46.75%.

Aditya Kumar Halwasiya, the Chairman and Managing Director of Cupid Ltd., has once again increased his shareholding in the company. An exchange filing released after market hours on Wednesday confirmed that Halwasiya acquired 1.5 million shares via an open market transaction.

This recent acquisition, representing 0.11 percent of Cupid's total equity, marks the second disclosed purchase by Halwasiya in September. Last month, the company also reported similar share purchases made by him through open market transactions.

Following this transaction, Halwasiya's personal stake in Cupid Ltd. has climbed to 33.80 percent. Concurrently, the aggregate shareholding of the promoter and promoter group has risen to 46.75 percent.

Strong Q1 Financial Performance Reported

Cupid Ltd. recently announced robust financial results for the June quarter of fiscal year 2027. The company's net profit saw a significant surge of 194 percent year-on-year (YoY), reaching ₹44.15 crore, up from ₹15.01 crore in Q1 FY26.

Total income for the quarter also increased substantially by 142 percent YoY, totaling ₹156.98 crore compared to ₹59.80 crore in the same period last year. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) zoomed by 265 percent YoY to ₹60.06 crore from ₹16.47 crore. The company's EBITDA margin improved to 39 percent in Q1 FY27 from 28 percent in Q1 FY26.

Stock Performance and Surveillance Measures

On Wednesday, Cupid shares closed at ₹279.60, registering a gain of 1.58 percent. The stock has demonstrated strong performance over the past six months, delivering a multibagger return of 204.91 percent.

Cupid Ltd. specializes in the manufacturing and marketing of male and female condoms, water-based personal lubricants, and in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) kits. The company also maintains a portfolio of Consumer Healthcare and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) products.
