The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that students whose Class 12 marks were updated following verification or re-evaluation will soon receive their revised physical marksheets. However, there's a crucial condition: students must surrender their original marksheet to obtain the new one.
According to sources cited by PTI, these updated documents will be distributed through CBSE's regional offices over the coming weeks. The mandatory surrender of the previous marksheet ensures that only the most current and accurate academic record is in circulation.
Digital Access for Urgent Needs
Recognizing the urgency for students, particularly those in the midst of college admissions, CBSE has already made the revised marksheets available on DigiLocker. This digital version is fully accepted as a valid document for all official purposes, alleviating the need for students to wait for the physical copy to arrive and potentially delaying their admission processes.
Re-evaluation Process Nearing Completion
This clarification comes shortly after CBSE initiated the release of re-evaluation outcomes. The board stated that approximately 87% of all applications received have already been processed, with results declared. The remaining cases are being released in batches, and the entire re-evaluation process is expected to conclude soon. CBSE emphasized that the process is managed through a "robust, transparent and carefully monitored system" to ensure fairness and accuracy.
Key Dates in the Class 12 Result Timeline
- May 13: CBSE declared Class 12 board results for around 17.69 lakh students.
- May 19 – May 25: Candidates could obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books.
- June 2 – June 7: Application period for students wishing to seek re-evaluation after reviewing scanned copies.
As the revised results continue to be released, students whose marks have changed can access their updated scorecards instantly via DigiLocker. The physical mark sheets will follow through the CBSE regional office network in the coming weeks, requiring the return of the original document for collection.
