Capri Global Board Approves ₹4,000 Crore Fundraise; AUM Set to Double

· · 2 min read

Capri Global Capital Ltd.'s board has approved raising up to ₹4,000 crore through various methods, including rights and public issues. This move follows the NBFC's projection to more than double its assets under management to over ₹1 lakh crore in 3-3.5 years.

Shares of Capri Global Capital Ltd. are in focus today after the Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) announced its board's approval to raise funds totaling up to ₹4,000 crore. The decision was made at a board meeting held on October 14, 2026, and is expected to bolster the company's growth initiatives, particularly in its retail lending segments.

The Mumbai-based NBFC, which currently boasts a market capitalization of ₹23,837 crore, has outlined a comprehensive strategy for capital infusion. The approved fund-raising exercise will involve one or more permissible modes, offering flexibility in how the capital is secured.

Diverse Fund-Raising Avenues

Capri Global has indicated that the funds may be raised through a variety of instruments and methods. These include:

  • Equity shares
  • Debt securities
  • Convertible securities
  • Warrants

Specific routes under consideration encompass a rights issue, preferential issue on a private placement basis, a public issue, qualified institutions placement (QIP), Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCBs), and External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs). The final choice of method will be contingent upon regulatory and statutory approvals, including the crucial approval from the company's shareholders.

Ambitious Growth Projections

This strategic fundraise aligns with Capri Global's ambitious growth targets. In August 2026, the firm revealed its expectation to significantly expand its total assets under management (AUM).

Managing Director Rajesh Sharma stated earlier that the company anticipates AUM to more than double from the current ₹40,000 crore to surpass ₹1 lakh crore within the next three to three-and-a-half years. This substantial growth is projected to be driven by an expanding gold loan business, alongside sustained demand across the company's other robust retail lending segments.

The board's approval for the ₹4,000 crore capital raise underscores the company's commitment to achieving these aggressive AUM targets and solidifying its position in the competitive retail lending market.
