· · 2 min read

Shares of Caliber Mining and Logistics Ltd surged 18.12% to a new high of Rs 624.25, extending their rally after a strong IPO debut. The stock is up 47.23% from its IPO price, prompting some market experts to advise caution against chasing current levels.

Shares of Caliber Mining and Logistics Ltd continued their impressive post-listing rally on Monday, jumping 18.12% to reach a fresh high of Rs 624.25. This surge pushes the stock's gain to 47.23% above its initial public offering (IPO) price of Rs 424, achieved in just two trading sessions since its market debut on July 24.

The significant uptick follows an overwhelming investor response to the company's IPO, which saw strong demand across all investor categories. Caliber Mining's IPO was open for subscription from July 17 to July 21, priced between Rs 402 and Rs 424 per share, with a lot size of 35 shares. The offering was subscribed an impressive 146.64 times overall, attracting nearly 38.45 lakh applications and bids totaling approximately Rs 48,720 crore.

Investor Enthusiasm and Oversubscription

The qualified institutional buyers (QIB) portion of the IPO was subscribed 240.71 times, while the non-institutional investor (NII) segment saw subscription rates of 267.36 times. Retail investors also showed strong interest, with their portion subscribed 41.15 times, highlighting broad market confidence in the newly listed entity.

Analysts Urge Caution Amidst Rally

Despite the strong performance, some market experts are advising investors to exercise caution. Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer at Master Capital Services, suggests that profit-booking cannot be ruled out, as early investors may seek to lock in gains. He emphasizes that future stock performance will hinge on the company's execution of its business plans.

Singh advises those who missed the IPO to wait for initial volatility to subside and to thoroughly assess the company's fundamentals before taking a position. He suggests that a disciplined approach is more likely to yield a better entry point than actively chasing the current momentum.

Kranthi Bathini, Director of Equity Strategy at WealthMills Securities, echoed these sentiments, recommending caution after the recent sharp rally. However, Bathini also maintained a positive long-term outlook for Caliber Mining's growth story.
