Hyderabad, India – Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a prominent Indian aerospace and defence manufacturer, has reported a significant financial uplift for the first quarter of the fiscal year. The company's net profit soared six-fold, reaching ₹118.79 crore, a substantial increase from ₹18.34 crore recorded in the same period last year.
The strong performance was also reflected in its operational revenue, which climbed an impressive 131%. BDL's revenue from operations for Q1 stood at ₹572.24 crore, up from ₹247.92 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Operational Efficiency Drives Growth
Beyond the top and bottom lines, Bharat Dynamics demonstrated robust operational efficiency. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) saw a remarkable 283% rise, reaching ₹50 crore for the quarter. This indicates improved cost management and increased productivity across its manufacturing processes.
Stock Market Reacts Positively
Following the announcement of its stellar Q1 earnings on Friday, Bharat Dynamics' shares experienced a positive movement. The stock climbed 3.45% on the BSE, closing at ₹1420. This surge pushed the company's market capitalization to ₹51,172 crore. The defence scrip opened higher at ₹1383.20, with 4.84 lakh shares changing hands, amounting to a turnover of ₹67.04 crore.
Investors have shown sustained confidence in BDL, as its stock currently trades above its 10-day, 20-day, 30-day, 50-day, 100-day, 150-day, and 200-day moving averages. Over the past three years, the midcap stock has delivered a substantial 150% return to its shareholders.
