Brokerage firm Kotak Institutional Equities, in its Q1FY27 results preview, indicated potential headwinds for Bayer CropScience. The firm noted that the late arrival of monsoon rains could impact the company's performance. Additionally, a shift in farmer sentiment away from corn hybrid seeds, which typically contribute about a quarter of Q1 revenues, is also expected to weigh on results.
Kotak projects a 5% year-on-year decline in revenues for Bayer CropScience, alongside a 2.3% drop in EBITDA. Net income is anticipated to fall by 7.7% year-on-year, even assuming a slight recovery in margins compared to the previous year's depressed base. Despite these projections, Kotak Institutional Equities maintains an 'Add' rating on the stock, setting a target price of Rs 4,820.
Another brokerage, Antique Stock Broking, holds a 'Hold' rating on Bayer CropScience with a target price of Rs 4,900.
