The stock opened higher than its previous close of Rs 1056.05, pushing the firm's market capitalization to Rs 6.97 lakh crore. This rally reflects investor confidence in Bajaj Finance's robust financial performance for the quarter ended June 2026.

Strong Financial Performance Drives Growth

Bajaj Finance reported a net profit of Rs 5985.75 crore for the June 2026 quarter, marking a substantial 27% increase compared to Rs 4699 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. This figure also exceeded Bloomberg's estimates of Rs 5791 crore.

Key financial highlights from the Q1 earnings include:

  • Net Interest Income (NII): Rose 23% year-on-year to Rs 12,571 crore, up from Rs 10,228 crore a year ago.
  • Revenue: Increased by 20% year-on-year to Rs 23,165 crore, surpassing the estimated Rs 22,960 crore.
  • Assets Under Management (AUM): Grew by 24% to Rs 5,46,944 crore in Q1FY27.
  • Profit Before Tax: Saw a 28% rise, reaching Rs 8,149 crore.
  • Provision for Loan Losses: Declined by 1% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 1990 crore, better than the Bloomberg estimate of Rs 2192 crore.

Operational Achievements and Market Reaction

Operationally, Bajaj Finance added 5.10 million new customers during the quarter, bringing its total customer franchise to 124.43 million. The company also booked 16.13 million new loans, showcasing strong business expansion.

The stock's performance has been impressive, gaining 12% in the past month and 28% over the last year. Currently, Bajaj Finance shares are trading higher than their 5-day, 10-day, 20-day, 30-day, 50-day, 100-day, 150-day, and 200-day moving averages, indicating strong momentum. The stock had previously touched a 52-week low of Rs 788.40 on March 23.
