Bajaj Finance has increased its fixed deposit interest rates by 15-40 basis points, effective October 7, 2026. Senior citizens can now achieve returns of up to 8.15%, while regular depositors can earn up to 7.75% on fresh deposits.

Bajaj Finance has announced a significant upward revision in its fixed deposit (FD) interest rates, increasing them by 15 to 40 basis points across various tenures. The new rates are applicable from October 7, 2026, for deposits ranging from 12 to 60 months, offering enhanced returns for both new investments and renewals.

Higher Returns for Regular Depositors and Senior Citizens

Under the revised structure, regular depositors can now earn up to 7.75% per annum on fresh deposits. Senior citizens, benefiting from an additional premium, can secure returns of up to 8.15% annually, marking a substantial increase in potential earnings.

Detailed Rate Changes for Fresh Deposits:

  • 12-17 Months: Regular depositors will now get 6.80% (up from 6.60%), while senior citizens will receive 7.20%.
  • 18-30 Months: Rates for regular depositors are 7.00% (up from 6.85%), and senior citizens will earn 7.40%.
  • 31-60 Months: This tenure sees the largest hike, with regular depositors earning 7.75% (up from 7.40%) and senior citizens achieving 8.15% (up from 7.75%).

The premium for senior citizens has been increased to 0.40 percentage points, up from 0.35 percentage points previously, further widening the benefit for elderly investors.

Boost for Renewals

Bajaj Finance has also introduced an additional 0.10% interest benefit for customers opting to renew their maturing deposits. This brings the maximum rate for renewing regular deposits to 7.85% and allows senior citizens renewing their FDs for 31-60 months to earn the highest rate available under the new structure, at 8.25%.

Renewal Rates:

  • 12-17 Months: Regular depositors get 6.90%, senior citizens 7.30%.
  • 18-30 Months: Regular depositors get 7.10%, senior citizens 7.50%.
  • 31-60 Months: Regular depositors get 7.85%, senior citizens 8.25%.

Flexible Options and Security

Depositors have the flexibility to choose between cumulative deposits, where interest is paid at maturity, or non-cumulative options with monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annual interest payouts. For instance, a senior citizen choosing monthly payouts on a 31-60 month fresh deposit will earn 7.86% per annum.

Bajaj Finance fixed deposits hold a robust AAA/Stable rating from both CRISIL and ICRA, indicating a high level of safety and stability for investors. The minimum investment required is ₹15,000, with a maximum deposit limit of ₹3 crore. Customers can conveniently manage their deposits through the Bajaj Finance website, mobile app, branches, or partner channels. The company also offers a loan-against-FD facility, providing liquidity without requiring premature closure of the deposit.
