Bajaj Auto reported a robust Q1 FY27, with consolidated net profit jumping 46% year-on-year to ₹3,226 crore. Revenue from operations surged 65% to ₹21,689 crore, driven by strong domestic and export performance across all segments.

Pune, India — Bajaj Auto Ltd. has reported a robust financial performance for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27), with consolidated net profit surging by nearly 46% year-on-year. The two- and three-wheeler manufacturer posted a net profit of ₹3,225.63 crore for the April-June period, significantly up from ₹2,210.44 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company's revenue from operations also saw substantial growth, climbing 65.03% year-on-year to reach ₹21,688.83 crore, compared to ₹12,646.59 crore a year earlier. On a standalone basis, Bajaj Auto achieved an all-time high revenue of ₹17,244 crore, marking a 37% increase year-on-year, driven by record quarterly volumes and improved realizations.

Broad-Based Growth Across Segments

Bajaj Auto attributed its strong Q1 performance to broad-based growth across all its key business areas. This included significant contributions from both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) segments, as well as strong showings in both domestic and export markets for two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

"Broad-based performance underpinned by double-digit growth on all fronts (ICE/EV, Domestic/Exports, 2W/3W), sustained despite a challenging/disruptive external context and bearing testament yet again to the Company's resilient and diversified business model," the company stated in its earnings report.

Domestic Market and Exports Excel

The domestic business delivered another quarter of double-digit growth, leading to a 26% year-on-year increase in domestic revenues. The motorcycle segment, in particular, saw domestic revenues grow at a double-digit pace, bolstered by the strong performance of its sports motorcycle portfolio.

  • Retail sales in the sports segment grew approximately 1.5 times faster than the broader industry.
  • Popular brands like Pulsar, Avenger, and Dominar all recorded double-digit year-on-year growth.
  • The sports segment expanded by roughly 50%, supported by strategic product interventions across the Pulsar range.

Exports also hit a new milestone, achieving their strongest-ever quarterly performance. The company reported record revenue and volumes, with exports surpassing the 700,000-unit mark for the first time.

Premium Brands Maintain Momentum

Bajaj Auto's premium motorcycle brands, KTM and Triumph, continued their growth trajectory. Domestic revenue from these brands collectively increased by 60% year-on-year during the quarter, highlighting strong consumer demand in the premium segment.

Market Reaction

Following the announcement of these strong earnings, Bajaj Auto shares were observed trading 1.14% lower at ₹10,399.30. This market reaction may reflect broader market sentiment or profit-taking despite the positive financial results.
