As of the morning of its 15th day, "Awarapan 2" has accumulated ₹144.25 crore net in India. To achieve its ₹150 crore target, the film needs to collect an additional ₹5.75 crore. However, the path to this milestone has become more difficult following a sharp decline in daily collections.
The slowdown became particularly evident with the release of Yash's highly anticipated film, "Toxic," which has absorbed a substantial portion of audience attention and screen availability. "Awarapan 2" reportedly earned approximately ₹83.53 lakh on Day 13, followed by a further drop to an estimated ₹66.21 lakh on Day 14.
Weekend Hope Amidst Stiff Competition
Despite the recent dip, industry observers suggest the upcoming weekend offers "Awarapan 2" a vital opportunity for recovery. The film has cultivated a strong fan base, and a typical weekend surge in occupancy could significantly boost its domestic total. Historically, the film has shown a tendency to perform better on Saturdays and Sundays compared to weekdays.
However, the competition from "Toxic" remains fierce, with "Awarapan 2" now playing on fewer screens. The challenge for director Nitin Kakkar's film, produced by Vishesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt under the Vishesh Films banner, is to leverage its established appeal to draw audiences back to theaters and secure the remaining collections needed for the ₹150 crore milestone.
