Shares of Avalon Technologies Ltd. reached a new record high of Rs 2479, gaining 11% in a single session, pushing the company’s market capitalization to Rs 16,317 crore. This surge follows a bullish outlook from brokerage firm Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL), which sees a 27% upside potential for the electrical equipment provider.
The stock has demonstrated remarkable performance, zooming 159% in the past six months, 177% this year, and an impressive 315% over the last two years. MOFSL attributes this positive sentiment and future growth potential to Avalon's healthy order book and expanding opportunities across critical sectors.
MOFSL Forecasts Strong Financial Growth
Motilal Oswal Financial Services projects a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 40% in revenue, 47% in EBITDA, and 56% in adjusted Profit After Tax (PAT) for Avalon Technologies between fiscal years 2026 and 2029. This optimistic forecast is underpinned by the company's strong foundational elements.
The brokerage highlighted that Avalon's order book increased by 25% year-on-year, reaching Rs 2,200 crore in FY26. This includes long-term contracts, providing significant revenue visibility and stability for the company's future operations.
Strategic Entry into Semiconductor Equipment
A pivotal factor in MOFSL's positive assessment is Avalon's strategic foray into the semiconductor equipment business. This move represents a significant shift towards a higher-value and more complex segment of the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry.
The semiconductor opportunity is being driven by global trends, including rising investments in artificial intelligence (AI), high-bandwidth memory (HBM), graphics processing units (GPUs), and advanced semiconductor packaging. Avalon has already commenced commercial production of electronic power boxes for a leading global wafer fabrication equipment manufacturer, following nearly two years of dedicated development work.
The company plans to establish its semiconductor equipment business as a standalone vertical within the next 18-24 months, while also actively exploring opportunities to supply additional components for semiconductor equipment. MOFSL believes this segment could become a substantial contributor to Avalon's revenue and profitability in the long term, supported by dedicated infrastructure in Chennai, increasing localization, outsourcing trends, and policy support under the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 (ISM 2.0).
Growth in Clean Energy and EMS Expertise
Beyond semiconductors, Avalon's clean energy business has also shown robust performance, recording a 21% CAGR in revenue between FY22 and FY26. Battery energy storage systems (BESS) have emerged as a significant growth driver, particularly in the expanding US market for energy storage solutions.
