Mumbai, India – Leading brokerage firm Angel One and the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) have announced their business updates for the September quarter (Q2 FY26), highlighting significant growth in key metrics.
Angel One Achieves Record Client Funding Book
Angel One reported its average client funding book reached an all-time high of ₹7,453 crore during the September quarter. This marks a substantial 40.5 percent increase compared to ₹5,305 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the funding book grew by 21.4 percent.
The company also expanded its client base by 17.3 percent year-on-year, reaching 3.99 crore, up from 3.4 crore in Q2 FY25. Despite this growth, Angel One’s average daily orders remained largely consistent year-on-year, standing at 56.4 lakh.
IEX Reports Double-Digit Volume Growth Amid Strong Demand
The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) recorded an electricity traded volume of 39,685 MU (million units) in the September quarter, representing a 12.7 percent increase year-on-year. This surge comes as India’s energy consumption touched 502 BUs during the same period, growing by 11.5 percent annually.
Market clearing prices saw notable increases. The average market clearing price in the Day-Ahead Market was ₹5.7 per unit, up 46 percent year-on-year. Similarly, the Real-Time Market’s average price stood at ₹5.2 per unit, marking a 49 percent year-on-year rise.
September 2026 Performance Highlights
- IEX achieved a monthly electricity traded volume of 12,220 MU in September 2026, a 10.4 percent increase year-on-year.
- India’s power demand remained robust, with peak demand reaching 269 GW on September 10, 2026.
- Strong power demand led to a 281 percent year-on-year increase in buy bids in the Day-Ahead Market, contributing to higher market prices.
For September 2026 specifically, the average market clearing price in the Day-Ahead Market was ₹7.3 per unit (up 105 percent year-on-year), and in the Real-Time Market, it was ₹6.9 per unit (up 108 percent year-on-year).
