Analysts Detail Key Technical Levels for NSDL, CDSL, and BSE Shares

· · 3 min read

A Prabhudas Lilladher analyst shares short-term technical outlooks for NSDL, CDSL, and BSE shares. Key support and resistance levels are identified for investors watching these Indian depository and exchange stocks.

Indian equity benchmarks closed lower on Thursday, August 27, 2026, amidst varied global cues and selling pressure in heavyweight stocks. The 30-share BSE Sensex declined by 539.35 points, or 0.70 percent, settling at 76,933.59, while the NSE Nifty index fell 116.90 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 24,090.85.

Sectoral performance saw metal, banking, and FMCG stocks lagging, though pharmaceutical stocks demonstrated relative resilience. The broader market remained subdued, with both midcap and smallcap indices ending flat to negative.

Against this backdrop, Shiju Koothupalakkal, Research Analyst at Prabhudas Lilladher, provided a short-term trading outlook for National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL), Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL), and BSE Ltd.

NSDL: Technical Outlook

NSDL shares have experienced a significant correction from the Rs 1,380 zone and recently found support around Rs 800. Koothupalakkal noted signs of a potential revival, but emphasized that a decisive move above its 100-period moving average, positioned around Rs 850, is crucial for strengthening the technical setup. Should the stock achieve a sustained breakout above this level, it could potentially advance towards Rs 940, which is identified as a significant resistance zone. The current market price (CMP) for NSDL is Rs 817.50.

CDSL: Technical Outlook

CDSL has exhibited a gradual upward trajectory, forming a series of higher lows on daily charts, indicative of an improving trend. However, the stock needs to decisively breach the Rs 1,455 resistance zone to establish further upward momentum. On the downside, the Rs 1,335 level, situated around the important 50-day exponential moving average (50-EMA), serves as a key support area. A confirmed breakout above Rs 1,455 could pave the way for targets of Rs 1,560 and Rs 1,670. The current market price (CMP) for CDSL is Rs 1,410.80.

BSE: Technical Outlook

BSE shares have corrected from their peak zone of Rs 4,425. Koothupalakkal highlighted the Rs 3,245 level as an important support area that must hold. For the stock’s technical bias to improve, it would need to move above the 50-EMA, which is currently placed around Rs 3,550. A sustained move beyond Rs 3,550 could lead to further upside towards Rs 3,800 and Rs 3,940. The current market price (CMP) for BSE is Rs 3,328.

It is important to note that Indian equity markets will remain open for trading on Friday, August 28, 2026, despite Raksha Bandhan being observed. The festival is not listed as a trading holiday in the stock exchanges' 2026 holiday calendars.
