Analyst Recommends 'Buy on Dips' for Samvardhana Motherson; CAMS Needs Patience

· · 3 min read

Market expert Nilesh Jain recommends a 'buy on dips' strategy for Samvardhana Motherson, eyeing Rs 175-180. For CAMS, he advises patience, projecting Rs 820-850 short-term and over Rs 1000 long-term, supported by its 200-day moving average.

Market expert Nilesh Jain of Centrum Broking has offered a detailed technical outlook on two prominent stocks: Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd (SMIL) and Computer Age Management Services (CAMS). His analysis, shared on Business Today TV’s Daily Call, emphasizes distinct strategies for investors navigating a range-bound market.

Samvardhana Motherson: A 'Buy on Dips' Opportunity

For Samvardhana Motherson, the auto ancillary major, Jain advocates a 'buy on decline' strategy. Despite a recent retracement after hitting new record highs, the stock maintains a robust broader structure. Investors are advised to consider the Rs 155-160 zone as an attractive entry point, with a strict stop loss at Rs 155, which aligns with the stock's 50-day moving average support.

Jain anticipates a gradual upward movement, setting a near-term upside target of Rs 175-180. This suggests that the current cooling-off phase might be a healthy reset rather than a reversal. As of the current session, the stock was trading flat at Rs 165, with a market capitalization of Rs 1.74 lakh crore, having previously touched a record high of Rs 173.25 on August 19, 2026.

CAMS: Patience for Long-Term Rewards

Regarding Computer Age Management Services (CAMS), a mutual fund services player, Jain acknowledges investor frustration over its prolonged underperformance. The stock has remained sluggish, trading around its 2024 levels despite earlier expectations of stronger gains. In the current session, CAMS stock saw a gain of 2.57%, reaching a high of Rs 784, with its market cap rising to Rs 19,380 crore.

Despite past challenges, Jain points to a crucial technical support level: the stock's 200-day moving average near Rs 730. As long as this level holds, he sees potential for a rebound towards Rs 820-850 in the short run. For investors with a longer horizon, the outlook is more constructive, with Jain suggesting the counter could move towards Rs 1000-plus levels over a timeframe exceeding one year, provided investors are willing to exercise patience.

Navigating a Stock-Picker's Market

These recommendations come amidst a consolidating market where benchmark indices are expected to remain within a narrow trading band. Jain highlights that in such an environment, stock selection becomes paramount over aggressive index bets. The contrasting advice for Motherson, which offers near-term tactical upside, and CAMS, a slower-moving positional idea demanding conviction and patience, underscores the nuanced approach required for investors. Across both, the underlying framework remains consistent: respect support levels, stagger entries on weakness, and avoid blindly chasing momentum.
