Board Clears Major Fundraising Initiative
In a strategic move to bolster its financial position and support future growth initiatives, Adani Power's board of directors has given the green light to raise up to ₹15,000 crore. This fundraising will be conducted through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) or other permissible modes, subject to necessary shareholder and regulatory approvals.
The company stated, "Approved the raising of funds by way of issuance of such number of equity shares having face value of Rs. 2 each of the Company and / or other eligible securities or any combination thereof... for an aggregate amount not exceeding Rs. 15,000 crore... by way of qualified institutions placement ('QIP') or other permissible mode."
Market Reaction to Earnings and Fundraising News
Despite the positive earnings report and the announcement of a major fundraising plan, shares of Adani Power experienced a downward trend following the news. On Wednesday afternoon, shares were trading approximately 2% lower at ₹212 on the BSE.
