· · 2 min read

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has operationalized a 139 MW solar power project in Khavda, Gujarat, through its subsidiary. This addition elevates AGEL's total operational renewable generation capacity to over 20 GW.

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) announced Wednesday that its wholly-owned stepdown subsidiary, Adani Green Energy Twenty Six A Limited, has successfully operationalized a 139 MW solar power project located in Khavda, Gujarat. The plant commenced commercial operations at 2:05 p.m. on September 1, 2026, following the necessary clearances.

Expanding India's Renewable Energy Footprint

The activation of this new solar facility significantly contributes to AGEL's growing portfolio of clean energy assets. With this project now online, Adani Green Energy's total operational renewable generation capacity has reached an impressive 20,280.80 MW. Furthermore, the company's total operational Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity now stands at 3,551 MWh, underscoring its commitment to comprehensive renewable energy solutions.

Market Reaction and Outlook

Shares of Adani Green Energy have been under focus following the announcement, with market analysts closely watching the company's expansion trajectory. According to Bloomberg consensus, the 12-month target price for AGEL shares is Rs 1,570.45, suggesting a potential upside of approximately 24 percent from Tuesday's closing price of Rs 1,265 per share. The stock currently holds 10 'Buy' recommendations and one 'Sell' call from analysts.

This development comes shortly after Adani Green informed stock exchanges last month about the US Department of Justice (DOJ) dropping charges against Gautam S. Adani, Sagar R. Adani, and Vneet S. Jaain. The US DOJ had filed a motion to dismiss with prejudice charges related to alleged securities fraud and wire fraud conspiracies, effectively closing the case permanently.

Adani Green Energy continues to play a pivotal role in India's transition towards a sustainable energy future, consistently adding significant capacity to its renewable energy infrastructure.
