Acme Solar Initiates Qualified Institutional Placement

Acme Solar Holdings Limited has announced the commencement of its Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) to raise capital. The company has set the floor price for the QIP at ₹294.13 per equity share. This price represents a 4.16 percent discount when compared to the closing price of its shares on the previous trading day, which was ₹306.90 per share. New Battery Energy Storage System Commissioned in Rajasthan

In a separate development, ACME Sun Power Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Acme Solar Holdings, has successfully commissioned a significant Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The newly operational facility boasts a capacity of 33.333 MW or 160.512 MWh. Located across Phalodi and Jodhpur in the state of Rajasthan, the project was commissioned on June 1. The commercial operation date (COD) for this system is scheduled for June 3, 2026. With this latest addition, ACME Sun Power Private Limited has achieved a total commissioned BESS capacity of 266.669 MW / 1283.936 MWh.

Strong Financial Performance and Future Growth Outlook

Acme Solar Holdings has demonstrated robust financial performance, reporting a 13 percent year-over-year growth in Q4 revenue and net profit. This growth was primarily fueled by increased generation and higher other income. Analysts have highlighted the company's substantial project pipeline, which stands at 8,071 MW, including 17 GWh of BESS capacity. Of this, 5,081 MW is currently under construction, and 3,280 MW is already secured by power purchase agreements (PPAs).

During Q4, Acme Solar commissioned 2.3 GW of BESS capacity operating under the merchant mode and added 301 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects. Additionally, its 100 MW wind project was fully commissioned. Generation for Q4 FY26 rose to 1,720 MU, with a capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 26.9 percent. The management has set an ambitious target of achieving 10 GW of renewable capacity and 20 GWh of BESS by FY30.

Analyst Perspective on Acme Solar's Strategic Evolution

HSBC recently commented on Acme Solar's strategic direction, noting that the early and larger commissioning of BESS projects positions the company well to capitalize on diurnal variations in power prices. The firm described Acme as a "fully vertically integrated renewable IPP" currently undergoing a high-growth phase, with significant capacity additions expected over the next two years.

"Strategically, the business is evolving from a pure-play solar provider to more complex firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects, which require a combination of solar, wind, and battery storage capacity," HSBC stated on May 8.
