ACME Solar Holdings has commissioned the first phase of its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan, adding 53.73 MW discharge and 222.969 MWh storage capacity. This marks a significant step in their larger Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy initiative.

ACME Solar Holdings Ltd. has announced the commissioning of Phase-I of its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan. This new infrastructure adds a substantial 53.73 megawatts (MW) of discharge capacity and 222.969 megawatt-hours (MWh) of storage capacity to the company's portfolio.

The project was executed through ACME Sigma Urja Private Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of ACME Solar, and is located at Village Neemri, Tehsil Rawatbhata, in the Chittorgarh District of Rajasthan. This BESS component is part of a broader 250 MW/1,069 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. While the BESS phase is now operational, the corresponding renewable energy generation component remains under development.

Strategic Investment in Energy Storage

The commissioning, with a commercial operation date set for October 2, 2026, underscores ACME Solar's commitment to expanding its footprint in the renewable energy sector. As an independent power producer, the company specializes in utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid, and firm and dispatchable renewable energy solutions, with a growing focus on battery energy storage.

The news has drawn attention to ACME Solar shares, which closed at Rs 439.85 on Wednesday, reflecting a 0.47% increase from the previous close. The stock has demonstrated strong performance throughout 2026, gaining 85% year-to-date.
